Responsibilities As a Working Student (m/w/d) Security Operations Engineering based in Germany, you will assist in various Security Operations Center (SOC) projects. You will gain exposure to SOC engineering concepts such as log onboarding, detection engineering, and SIEM technologies.

Under senior guidance, you will support the design and implementation of security solutions for customers across different sectors. Typical tasks Support the planning and management of onboarding new log sources, including troubleshooting with clients and vendors. Create technical and process playbooks.

Define and set up correlation rules based on threat intelligence and specific customer requirements. Contribute to incident response procedures. Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the SOC field.

Qualifications Current student (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security or a comparable program. First practical experience in cybersecurity or IT is desirable. Understanding of Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Security stack, or SIEM technologies such as Elastic, Splunk, or LogPoint.

Experience or interest in SIEM query languages and learning Sigma and YARA rules. Experience or coursework related to cybersecurity is beneficial. You hold citizenship in one of the 32 NATO member states or Austrian citizenship. Soft skills Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
